Oregon M&A Overview — Business Sale Activity for M&A Targets
In Q2 2026, Oregon-based target companies recorded 44 M&A transactions representing approximately $1.82 billion of aggregate disclosed transaction value across six transactions with reported values. Gruns Nutrition’s $1.2 billion transaction represented approximately 66% of the quarter’s disclosed value; excluding that deal, disclosed transaction value totaled approximately $619.6 million. Strategic buyers accounted for much of the activity, supplemented by private equity firms, sponsor-backed platforms, and other institutional investors. Most identifiable acquirers were based outside Oregon or internationally, while software and technology, industrial and distribution businesses, and wealth and financial services emerged as recurring sector themes alongside real estate and healthcare. The breadth of activity across industries continued to position Oregon as a durable seller and exit market for both founder-owned and sponsor-backed companies.
The quarter’s largest disclosed transaction was Unilever PLC’s proposed $1.2 billion acquisition of Beaverton-based Gruns Nutrition, expanding the global consumer company’s exposure to the wellness category. In energy and advanced technology, an undisclosed buyer acquired an 11.56% stake in Corvallis-based NuScale Power Corporation for $473 million. Real estate also contributed meaningful disclosed value, with PCCP, LLC and Guardian Real Estate Services LLC acquiring Ladd Tower Apartments for $63 million and MG Properties Group purchasing Gresham-based Parkside Apartments for $42 million. In agribusiness and distribution, Vireo Growth agreed to acquire Clackamas-based Bridgewell Agribusiness for $40 million, extending the quarter’s activity beyond the larger consumer, technology, and real estate transactions.
The quarter reinforced the depth of Oregon’s middle-market transaction environment: activity was not dependent on a single industry or buyer class, and acquirers ranged from global strategics to private equity firms and consolidating operating platforms. For Oregon business owners and financial sponsors evaluating an exit, the quarter’s deal flow illustrates continued buyer interest in differentiated technology, specialized services, branded consumer products, industrial capabilities, and established regional platforms.
